One bodega, one wine, one Brand
After having worked in a century-old winery in La Rioja for 28 years, we decided to give birth to this bodega in 1998, joining our two surnames Valentín and Enciso. With hard work, patience, dedication and love, we have made our dream come true.
Valenciso is located in Ollauri, in the north of Rioja Alta, a renowned area for wine-making since the 19th century. The partial influence of the Atlantic Ocean mitigating the summer heat, coupled with the calcareous and clayey soil, are the peculiar elements that make Rioja Alta so unique.
In our winery we follow the guidelines of Sustainable or Reasoned Winegrowing, a method that respects both the soil and the plant.
We put quality before quantity, practicing grape selection directly in the vineyard and reducing our yields to 5000 kilos per hectare. Like any other fruit, grapes benefit from low production concentrating flavors and sugars and acidity.
